BHEL Tiruchy needs Specialists for Research

BHEL, Tiruchirappalli, a major manufacturing unit of BHEL, India’s premier engineering organisation, with a work force of over 10000 employees has established a Coal Research Centre with the state-of-the art equipment to take up advanced research projects on par with International standards. Further, the Research and Development effort requires Specialists to work on Advanced Heat Transfer, Combustion, Nano Sciences and Technology, etc.

Ph.D holders with 4 years of Industrial or Research Lab experience in the relevant field OR Post Graduate in Engineering with minimum 6 years of Research experience in a Lab or Industry in the relevant area of specialisation.

For Post Code CR-02 (Fuel Chemistry) and PL-01(Water Chemistry) - Ph.D holders who are Post Graduates in Science or Engineering are also eligible to apply. For other posts only Ph.D holders with Post-Graduation in Engineering are eligible.

Candidates, who have submitted their Ph. D thesis for external examination, can apply with a proof to that extent. Their selection/appointment will however be subject to their submission of the Ph. D certificate.

Reservations & Relaxations:

  • Out of 9 vacancies stated above, 5 are Unreserved, 3 are reserved for OBC (Non Creamy Layer), 1 reserved for SC. Out of the total vacancies 1 is reserved for PH (Locomotor) candidate.

    Definition of Locomotor Disability (Orthopaedically Disabled) for reservation of Physically Disabled candidates is as under the Persons with disability (Equal opportunities, protection of rights and Full participation) act 1995. The Physically challenged candidates are required to furnish medical certificate in relation to the disability from Government Hospital or Medical Board attached to the special employment exchange for the disabled.”

  • A relaxation of 5 years for SC and ST candidates, 3 years for OBC (Non creamy Layer) candidates, 10 years for Physically Challenged candidates and as per rules for Ex-servicemen and candidates domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1/1/1980 to 31/12/1989.

    Vacancies reserved for OBC category are meant only for candidates coming under “Non-Creamy Layer”. Non Creamy Layer means the gross annual income of parents of the candidates should not exceed Rs.4.5 Lacs in the last three consecutive years in line with DOPT OM No: 36033/3/2004-Estt (Res) dated 14th October, 2008.

Emoluments and Benefits:

  • The selected candidates will normally be placed at the minimum of the pay scale and will be on probation for a period of one year. In addition to Basic Pay they would be entitled to Dearness Allowance (47.2% at present), Perks at 46% of the basic pay in a cafeteria approach, Annual Increment at 3% of the Basic Pay, Performance Related Pay, Free Medical Treatment for Self, Family and Dependant parents, Insurance Cover, Housing in the Company Township or HRA, Leave and encashment of Earned Leave, Contributory Provident Fund, Group Insurance, Gratuity, etc. The Pay scale would be as under:

Selection Process:

All eligible candidates shall be called for a personal interview, to be held at Chennai. The Interviews will tentatively be held in the month of August/September, 2011.

General Instructions:

  1. General and OBC candidates (except Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe & Physically Handicapped candidates) shall enclose a crossed demand draft or Inter Office Instrument of the State Bank of India for Rs.250 drawn in favour of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, Tiruchirappalli, payable at State Bank of India, Heavy Electricals, Kailasapuram (Branch Code No.1363).

  2. Candidates belonging to OBC category but not covered under ‘Non-creamy layer’ should indicate their category as ‘General’.

  3. Candidates should carefully fill up all details in the application form especially the Category (SC/ST/OBC/PH) for which required documentary proof need to be attached with the application. If later found that such a statement is false, the candidate will be liable for suitable action including termination and prosecution.

  4. As per the Government guidelines only those servicemen who are either already discharged or are due to discharge within 6 months from the release of advertisement will be treated as ‘Ex-Servicemen’. In case of the later, appropriate proof to that effect will have to be produced.

  5. Candidates called for Interview would be paid AC 2 Tier sleeper Class fare from starting station or mailing address whichever is nearer to the place of interview and back by the shortest route on production of proof of journey.

  6. Candidates employed in Govt./Semi-Govt./Public Sector Undertakings/Nationalised Banks/Autonomous bodies should be required to apply through proper channel. However, in the event of difficulty they may send the application directly and produce the relieving order from their Organisation in the event of selection.

  7. Candidates who have left a PSU after availing Voluntary retirement, if selected, will be required to return the VRS compensation received to the PSU concerned.

  8. Appointment to the post will be subject to being found medically fit by the Authorised Medical Authority in BHEL as per the prescribed Health Standards.

  9. Candidates should ensure that they fulfill the essential eligibility criteria prescribed for the post for which they are applying. In case it is found at any stage of the selection process or even after appointment that the candidate has furnished false or incorrect information or suppressed any relevant information/material facts or does not fulfill the essential eligibility criteria, his/her candidature/service are liable for rejection/termination without notice.

  10. BHEL reserves the right to cancel / restrict / enlarge the recruitment process, if the need so arises, without assigning any further notice or reason therefor.

  11. Any legal proceedings in respect of any claim or dispute arising out of this advertisement and / or an application in response thereto can be instituted only in Tiruchirappalli and the Courts / Tribunals / Forums at Tiruchirappalli only shall have sole and exclusive jurisdiction.
